The Role
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a secondary school in Skelmersdale to recruit a motivated and confident English Teacher to join the department from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity to teach English in a supportive school environment, helping students develop strong reading, writing and communication skills while fostering a love for language and literature.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and well‑structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Plan differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
* Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature
* Assess progress regularly and provide clear, constructive feedback
* Maintain a calm, positive and well‑managed classroom environment
* Contribute to departmental planning and wider school life where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
* Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply)
* Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
* Confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management skills
* Reflective, proactive and committed to continuous professional development
* Able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues alike

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
