Chef Location: Cheshire Salary: £15ph Job Type: Full-time / Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join a dedicated care home team. Working closely with the Head Chef and Home Manager, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents. You will play a key role in creating enjoyable dining experiences while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management are maintained. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. Plan and deliver varied menus that meet dietary, nutritional, and cultural requirements. Ensure food is presented to a high standard and prepared within budget. Monitor stock levels and order supplies as required. Maintain accurate food ordering and inventory records. Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served in accordance with food safety regulations. Support, train, and supervise kitchen team members. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, including deep cleaning schedules. Follow and promote health and safety policies and procedures. Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision sessions. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues, responding professionally to feedback and requests. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience working as a Chef, ideally within a care home, healthcare, hospitality, or catering environment. NVQ Level 3 in Catering (or equivalent qualification). Strong cooking skills and knowledge of a variety of cooking techniques. Understanding of nutritional requirements and special dietary needs. Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and time-management abilities. Experience supervising or supporting kitchen staff. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays when required. Benefits Competitive salary.
