About The Role

Balfour Beatty is looking for an Estimator to join our Asset and Technology Solutions department in the Modular Accommodation Team in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, a passion for problem-solving, and a desire to grow within a supportive and dynamic environment.
What you'll be doing
* Supporting the production of cost estimates and quotations for modular building solutions.
* Learning how to interpret design specifications and market rates to create competitive tenders.
* Assisting in managing customer enquiries and helping to maintain a strong pipeline of new business.
* Collaborating with internal teams including operations, commercial, and procurement.
* Helping to review building fleet conditions and contribute to refurbishment cost estimates.
* Gaining exposure to industry legislation and best practices in modular construction.
Who we're looking for
* A proactive and curious mindset – someone who enjoys solving problems and learning new things.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* A team player who’s eager to contribute and grow within a collaborative environment.
* A genuine interest in construction, estimating, or modular buildings.
* Administrative experience in a sales background would be advantageous ideal for someone looking to pivot into estimating while bringing transferable skills.
* Good understanding of maths and analytical thinking – comfortable working with numbers, interpreting data, and drawing insights to support decision‑making.
* Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges with enthusiasm.
