What you’ll be doing
As an Optometrist at Boots, you’ll play a key role in delivering brilliant patient care – using the latest tech, working alongside experienced colleagues, and supporting your community with clinical excellence. Key responsibilities
* Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
* Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice
* Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs
* Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
* Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
* Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
* Playing a key role in your store’s leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
* We’re looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always focused on doing the right thing for patients.
* GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)
* NHS performer number (or working towards it)
* Excellent communication and organisation skills
* A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration
It would be great if you also have
* Experience supporting enhanced services
* A strong understanding of local clinical networks

Need To Know
We’re looking for a part-time Optometrist (22.5 hours) to join our Braintree store.
The role will involve working Sundays (10:00–16:00), Mondays and Fridays, alternating with the current Optometrist in store.
The practice is a freestanding store with Hearing Care, located in the town of Braintree and serving a mixed patient demographic.
The store has 2 testing rooms with 25-minute testing times.
You’ll be joining a team of 5 colleagues, including 1 resident Optometrist.
There are development opportunities, including the potential for Pre-Registration supervision in the future.
Store opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9:00–17:30 and Sunday 10:00–16:00.
The store is easily accessible, with car parking available within walking distance.
