The School and Role
ABC Teachers are looking for a skilled and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join Kitts Green Academy, a primary SEMH school for boys, part of the Thrive Education Partnership.
The school provides a structured, nurturing environment for boys aged 5–11 who require additional support with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students to manage their emotions, develop social skills, and engage positively with learning.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or SEND support, and full training and CPD will be provided for those new to SEMH schools.
Key Responsibilities
Mentor and support boys in classroom and social settings to manage behaviour effectively.
Implement and follow individual behaviour plans and interventions.
Promote emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience.
Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and pastoral staff to support learning and wellbeing.
Encourage positive engagement in lessons, enrichment activities, and outdoor play.
Support school trips, PE sessions, and other group activities.
Act as a positive male role model where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in SEMH, SEND, or mentoring roles.
Patience, empathy, and resilience.
Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with boys.
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Training and ongoing CPD provided for candidates new to SEMH or primary settings.
