Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor
The M25 is one of our flagship projects in the UK. It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network, with over 200,000 vehicles per day. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, requiring high levels of performance, constant improvement and maintenance. Connect Plus Services (CPS) is the joint venture formed to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract. We are looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to help develop, implement and monitor processes to manage HSW risks within the project. The role supports the organisation’s ambition to be a safe and responsible company regarding our people, supply chain partners and the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
* Being a visible champion for HSW throughout the project, engaging with operatives and managers
* Oversee the implementation of Organisational Standards relating to HSW at a local level, providing feedback to HSW Managers on improvements or conflicts with business requirements
* Monitor the delivery of the communications strategy to keep HSW on the operational delivery agenda, reporting back on levels of effective communication
* Support the delivery of appropriate and adequate HSW training based on project needs
* Support/undertake targeted inspections of HSW management systems and supply chain audits, tracking and supporting actions to close out
* Manage own diary and stakeholder communications to plan, schedule and conduct inspections and HSW conversations with site and depot teams
* Prepare and communicate timely reports and presentations detailing performance data on inspection/DWB findings, tracking and supporting actions to close out
* Represent the Health, Safety & Wellbeing function and its strategy during conference calls and meetings
* Review work activities against safety system of work and provide documented advice where necessary
* Support incident investigations, ensuring incidents are dealt with effectively with actions tracked to close out
Qualifications
Essential
* Professional qualification in health and safety (minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent)
* A current CSCS Card
* Clean, full driving licence
* Able to maintain a regular night-time and weekend presence
* Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital platforms to review data, identify themes and prepare representative graphs
Desirable
* Prior site-based construction experience
* Experience of working on a Joint Venture
* Experience facilitating meetings via digital platforms (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Skype)
