OSG Job Responsibilities
* As an OSG, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and well‑being of staff, visitors, and prisoners at HMP Millsike.
* Managing entry and exit procedures for staff, visitors, contractors, and vehicles.
* Providing exceptional customer service to visitors, fostering a welcoming and safe environment.
* Putting visitors at ease and answering questions about any aspect of prison life.
* Supporting visitors and recognising the emotional challenges of having a loved one in prison.
* Conducting regular patrols to maintain external security.
* Performing searches and confiscating forbidden items in line with policies.
* Escorting visitors and prisoners to ensure safety and security.
* Handling mail and maintaining logs to report contraband items.
* Supervising prisoner activities, including clothing and property exchanges.
* Operating the establishment's radio system and monitoring CCTV.
* Monitoring the prisoners' PIN Phone system and maintaining logs.
* Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures and seeking advice when needed.
* Performing administrative tasks to ensure accurate data maintenance.
Person Specification
* Basic to intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Motivated, hardworking and willing to learn.
