Job Description
A Home Instead CAREGiver is a kind, friendly, reliable, and compassionate person with excellent communication skills. You will work in a person's home, with the support of our team. We seek someone eager to learn, contribute, and work under pressure, who will enjoy the rewards and responsibilities of the role.
Responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining professional and friendly relationships with clients, their families, and others involved in their care.
2. Providing personal care such as washing, dressing, grooming, and continence care.
3. Offering companionship, engaging in conversation, and assisting with letters and social activities.
4. Supporting outings, social events, and hobbies.
5. Planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals, including rediscovering family recipes.
6. Collecting prescriptions and reminding clients about medication.
7. Providing home help, light housekeeping, and ensuring a safe, tidy environment.
8. Running errands, shopping, and accompanying clients to appointments.
9. Contributing to a positive living environment to improve quality of life.
Qualifications
Care experience is required for this 30-hour weekly position, but full paid training is provided. We value your passion for care, friendliness, professionalism, and reliable references. Support with mealtimes and cooking is also part of the role. Being over 18 and a driver is advantageous, especially for rural clients.
Additional Information
We offer recruitment assessment programmes, ongoing award-winning training, 24/7 on-call support, and additional training from our Registered Nurse. Salary ranges from £10.60 to £12.50 on weekends, with double pay on public holidays, plus travel time, mileage allowance, holiday, and pension. Benefits include free DBS checks, Employee Assistance Program, store discounts, and a Refer-A-Friend scheme up to £500. CAREGivers do not wear uniforms but are provided with PPE. Weekends are every other weekend off.
