The Role
This is a broad and hands-on Assistant Accountant role supporting both the UK and German entities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, including Directors, and play a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations as the business scales.
This position offers excellent exposure across multiple areas of finance, making it ideal for someone looking to develop within a growing international business.

Key Responsibilities
* Support month-end close activities, including journals (accruals, prepayments, reclasses, FX) and maintaining the close process
* Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, VAT, bank, and clearing accounts)
* Assist with accounts payable processes, including payment runs and tracking outstanding items
* Support UK VAT return preparation, including data extraction and reconciliation
* Post payroll journals and reconcile payroll-related accounts in collaboration with HR
* Assist with OPEX review and cost coding to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Support intercompany reconciliations and recharge processes across UK and Germany
* Act as a key finance contact for day-to-day operational queries (vendors, logistics, payments)
* Contribute to process improvements in a growing and evolving finance function

Candidate Profile
* 1-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role (Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant level)
* Studying towards or interested in pursuing an accounting qualification (desirable)
* Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Navision (advantageous)
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills - cultural fit and attitude are key
* Hands-on, proactive, and willing to get involved in all areas of the business
* Able to commute to St Albans (office-based role)
