This is an outstanding opportunity for a Post-doctoral Research Associate, with a background in protein biochemistry/biophysics, to work within the Manchester Cell-Matrix Centre under the supervision of Professor Tony Day. The post holder will be part of Tony's group, which is based within the Michael Smith Building.
The candidate will support the aims of an ongoing collaborative project, involving Profs. Judi Allen and Tony Day, funded by a Wellcome Trust Discovery Award. This innovative project will study the role of the murine Chitinase-Like Protein (CLP), Ym1, in the regulation of collagen fibre formation, e.g., in the context of wound healing and repair.
This position offers an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual to work as part of a sociable multi-disciplinary team consisting of Tony's and Judi's lab members. The ideal candidate will have excellent protein biochemistry/biophysics skills and will be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience of turbidity assays, electron microscopy and analytical ultracentrifugation is essential for the position.
