Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Housekeeping Manager to support the Executive Housekeeper & Spa Operations Lead in overseeing all housekeeping operations across the estate. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for maintaining impeccable standards in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, while ensuring smooth daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.
You will lead and motivate the housekeeping team, coordinate with other departments, support recruitment and training, oversee inventory and cost control, and uphold all health, safety, and hygiene requirements. The position acts as second‑in‑command for the department and deputises in the absence of the EHSOL.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily housekeeping operations and ensure all areas meet five‑star cleanliness and presentation standards.
* Conduct inspections, manage SOPs, support quality audits, and coordinate room readiness.
* Lead, coach, and develop the housekeeping team; deliver training and manage performance.
* Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling.
* Manage stock levels, cost control, purchasing, and departmental budgets.
* Ensure full compliance with COSHH, manual handling, PPE, hygiene, and safety protocols.
* Maintain décor standards and contribute to a refined guest experience reflective of the estate’s luxury identity.
Qualifications
* Strong supervisory skills to efficiently manage and guide housekeeping and laundry teams.
* Proficiency in handling laundry operations and ensuring timely delivery of services.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills to ensure guest satisfaction and foster effective team collaboration.
* Experience in staff hiring, onboarding, and training processes.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining cleanliness, organization, and high standards.
* Ability to work as part of a team and lead by example in a luxury hospitality environment.
* Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of housekeeping procedures in the hospitality industry is a plus.
* Flexibility and ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
