We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team Working with our General Counsel, this an excellent opportunity for a passionate lawyer looking to support a commercial legal team within a global life sciences organisation. Does this sound like you? This role will specifically support the LGC Standards business and management team with legal, compliance and risk advice. You will also provide advice and expertise in relation to export controls compliance within LGC. This includes policy ownership and advice to the business. You will provide commercial legal support across the LGC Group, including supporting the Standards Business Unit and work with the wider Legal & Risk team to drive continuous improvement of the ways of working within the function, including the use of technology. Your work will be varied across customer and supplier agreements and other areas of legal, risk and compliance advice. This person will be the Legal policy owner for the export controls policy within LGC. Supporting training and advisory approach to the policy area, whilst collaborating with the General Counsel on wider transformation projects (including in relation to the use of legal technology within LGC). Qualifications Lawyer (UK or US) with 5 years plus PQE Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Excellent analytical skills, with high attention to detail and judgement. Flexible, pragmatic, and versatile teammate who can self-start with limited mentorship and work independently. Positive, problem solving, and business focused attitude. Proactive, generalist, comfortable leading a complex portfolio. Ability to prioritise workload appropriately in a fast-paced environment. Experience implementing and working with legal technology and data. Proven understanding of compliance issues helpful but not crucial. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Evidenced ability to engage with and influence senior business partners.
