Solar PV Installer / Electrician
with hands‑on experience in domestic and/or commercial installations, who is ready to join a generous, youthful, vibrant yet hard‑working team leading the way in the Renewable Sector.

We are looking for ethical individuals who take pride in high‑quality workmanship, safe installations, and exceptional customer service. Candidates should be confident working independently on site, while also being able to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors. Organisation and professionalism are key as the volume of work can be challenging, yet incredibly rewarding as we play a crucial role in the UK net‑carbon mission.
The position on offer will involve installing Solar PV systems, carrying out electrical works to the highest standard, ensuring compliance with BS7671:2018, and representing the OEP brand with pride on every project.
Key Responsibilities
• Installing domestic and commercial Solar PV systems, including mounting, wiring, testing and commissioning.
• Carrying out electrical installation work in line with BS7671:2018 and industry best practice.
• Completing AC and DC wiring, inverter installations, battery storage integration and EV charger installations (if qualified).
• Conducting site surveys, assessing installation requirements and identifying potential challenges.
• Working closely with project managers, roofers, and other installers to keep projects on track.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, cleanly, and in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Completing electrical certification, handover documentation, and system testing.
• Providing excellent customer service and representing OEP with professionalism on every site.
Skills & Qualifications Required
* Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3).
* 18th Edition (BS7671:2018).
* Solar PV qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2399 or equivalent).
* Experience installing Solar PV systems (domestic or commercial).
* Strong understanding of AC/DC systems, inverters, isolators, and system commissioning.
* Ability to work safely at height and use access equipment.
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
* High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK Driving Licence (required).
* An overall interest in making a difference to the planet through energy efficiency
Working Hours
Full‑time role, field‑based and in the office from time to time.
Standard hours: Monday to Friday- Hours depending on site requirements, when in the office 9am-5pm

Education
These form the baseline before anyone can train safely or legally in Solar PV.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• AM2 Assessment, the final practical competence test required to complete the NVQ Level 3 route.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018), required to work compliantly on any electrical installation, including PV.
* Level 3 Award in the Installation & Maintenance of Small‑Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (City & Guilds 2399 or 2922, EAL equivalent).
Experience
* Electrical installation: 2 years (required)
* Solar PV installation: 1 year (preferred but not essential if training‑ready)
