An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Surgery and Elective Care Business unit on Ward 1 at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH).
About Ward 1
Ward 1 is a 30-bed emergency trauma orthopaedic ward responsible for trauma orthopaedic admissions from various sources including the Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, and other wards within the trust requiring specialist orthopaedic review or surgical intervention. The ward also conducts high-risk elective orthopaedic surgeries.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic housekeeper to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high standards of care. This role offers valuable experience within our departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work under supervision of the Ward Manager/Qualified Nurse to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
2. Ensure daily upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of the ward environment to high standards.
3. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic ward environment by completing quality checks on patient areas, trolleys, and equipment daily.
4. Monitor stock levels of ward cleaning consumables, stationery, and supplies, and manage their appropriate storage.
5. Requisition minor maintenance repairs as needed.
6. Assist patients with meals and provide feeding support where appropriate.
7. Complete and submit departmental infection control audits.
