The Role
Join Our SEND Team as an Administrative Assistant.
Are you passionate about making a difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your organisational skills can truly shine? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
In this vital role, you’ll be at the heart of our SEND team, supporting the smooth running of statutory processes that help shape the future of children and young people with SEND.

We’re seeking someone who thrives in a supportive and organised environment and brings a positive, proactive attitude to everything they do.
Organised and Reliable: You’ll enjoy keeping things in order, managing schedules, and ensuring tasks are completed on time. Staying organised will be second nature to you, and you’ll take pride in knowing everything is running smoothly.
Comfortable Handling a Busy Day: No two days in this role will be the same, and that’s part of the excitement! Whether it’s helping with a new project, updating important records, or assisting a colleague, you’ll balance tasks with confidence and focus.
A Great Communicator: Building strong relationships will be a key part of your role. Whether you’re chatting with a parent, coordinating with a school, or sharing ideas with colleagues, you’ll always be approachable, clear, and supportive.
Detail-Oriented: Accuracy and attention to detail are important in this role, and you’ll feel good knowing your efforts help ensure everything is done to the highest standard.

Jill Colbert joined the council at the beginning of 2025 and was instantly charmed by the warmth, openness, and energy of colleagues.

We have a Social Work Academy that is led by people who bring passion to learning and who know that the DCS’ of the future are right in front of them.
