About the Role
The role involves working collaboratively with registered nurses, clinicians and members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Outpatient Department. Outpatients currently support a wide variety of clinical teams and activities, including endoscope, ECG, phlebotomy, PICC & Port access and care, and SACT assessment clinics. The position offers a varied working day and daily learning opportunities. Excellent communication skills are essential and phlebotomy experience is desirable.
Main duties
The senior health care support worker undertakes clerical duties; provides hands-on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performs phlebotomy, PICC and Port access and care; assists clinicians with endoscopic procedures; supports cleaning, safe handling and storage of endoscopes; conducts observations, urinalysis, BM recording, ECG recording; prepares for clinics and maintains high standards of documentation and record keeping.
Qualifications
Essential
* Good general education / Literacy & Numeracy or willingness to work towards obtaining
* Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an apprenticeship in clinical healthcare
* Holds National Care Certificate

* Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker
