Assistant Facilities and Maintenance Operative Location: Across Lancashire – covering all six Active Pathways services and Evermore Care Homes sites in Chorley, Bamber Bridge, Fulwood, and Lancaster Contract Type: Full-Time and Prt-Time considered – Fixed-Term Contract (6 months) Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience Overtime: Enhanced to £15.86 per hour once full-time hours (37.5) have been met Are you a skilled and experienced handy person, caretaker or maintenance operative with a background in plumbing or electrics ? Additional annual leave awarded at 2 and 5 years’ service Refer a Friend scheme – earn up to £500 per referral Company Sick Pay – 5 days per year after 2 years’ service Health Cash Plan – covers dental, optical, virtual GP, counselling, and includes discounted gym membership About the Role As the Assistant Facilities and Maintenace Operative, you will work across our four mental health services and two care homes, ensuring all buildings and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with regulations. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out day-to-day maintenance of communal areas, residential rooms, and grounds Conducting operational Health & Safety and Fire Regulation checks Managing external contractors when needed Maintaining equipment such as heating, plumbing, security systems, laundry machines, and water systems You will have multi-skilled maintenance experience, including minor electrical and/or plumbing work. Experience with central heating systems and similar environments is ideal. You’ll work independently and as part of a small Facilities and Maintenance team and travelling across our sites across Lancashire. Key Requirements Multi-skilled maintenance and facilities management experience, specifically plumbing or electrics Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle suitable for work purposes Flexible, can-do attitude with excellent customer service skills Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively Why Join Active Pathways? South Grove House (Fulwood) – Specialist residential care for men with Autism and co-existing mental health or substance misuse needs. Ashton Manor (Lancaster) – Residential, dementia, and respite care for older adults. Astley View (Chorley) – Residential, dementia, and respite care for older adults.
