SUMMARY Chemist is responsible for conducting physicochemical analyses of petroleum products, chemicals, and crude oil in compliance with established standards and procedures. The role involves analyzing research results, preparing detailed reports, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring laboratory equipment functions optimally. Additionally, the Chemist will participate in the validation and implementation of new research methods, proficiency testing, and overall laboratory maintenance. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct physicochemical analyses of petroleum products, chemicals, and crude oil following industry standards and guidelines. Analyze research results and prepare comprehensive reports. Maintain accurate documentation and records of laboratory tests and equipment. Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory environment. Assist in the implementation and validation of new research methods. Participate in proficiency testing programs to ensure accuracy and compliance. Authorize research results and ensure data integrity. Manage laboratory operations during assigned shifts. Continuously update knowledge and skills within the field. To always respect and protect company and client confidentiality. Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to operational excellence. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the petroleum or chemical industry. Knowledge of industry standards and testing methodologies. Experience with laboratory equipment operation and maintenance. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Capability to share knowledge and expertise with colleagues. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES Strong ability to interpret test results accurately and provide detailed analysis. Familiarity with laboratory instruments and testing techniques. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach. High level of availability and flexibility.
