Aligra is looking for a motivated UK Transport Planner to plan and coordinate a fleet of 15 vehicles, maximise revenue, and deliver top service to customers. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to make a real impact, we’d like to hear from you.

* Monday to Friday shifts with a set 06:30 to 15:30 shift pattern
* £14.42 to £16.30 per hour

Key Responsibilities
* Fleet Management: Plan and coordinate routes for a fleet of 15 vehicles, ensuring cost-effective, efficient transport and maximising backloading to boost revenue.
* Compliance: Maintain full compliance with statutory laws, EU Drivers’ Hours Rules and Regulations, and company policies. Make sure all drivers are fully briefed and have the correct documentation.
* Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of all transport activities—including quotes, bookings, and manifests—using the company’s Transport Management System (TMS).
* Communication: Work closely with the internal operations team, professional drivers, and customers. Address any issues quickly and keep everyone informed.
* Performance Monitoring: Track driver performance, delays, and demurrage. Identify and act on opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
* Cost Management: Oversee fuel use, tolls, and parking costs. Address any concerns to keep expenses under control.
* Health & Safety: Uphold company Health & Safety standards, ensuring all processes are followed for a safe and compliant operation.
* Driver Briefing & Welfare: Deliver thorough briefings and debriefings. Carry out daily welfare checks on remote drivers and handle compliance, accident, and incident issues.
Experience and Skills:
* National CPC preferred, but not essential
* At least 2 years’ experience in transport planning and operations
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with good UK geographical knowledge
* Confident using IT applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team
* Positive, flexible approach to problem-solving under pressure
* Solid understanding of transport and logistics regulations, including EU Drivers’ Hours, Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations 2005, and GB Domestic Rules
