At Rusacks St Andrews, we’re looking for a Finance Assistant to support our Financial Controller and play a key role in the financial operations of one of Scotland’s most iconic hotels. About the Role As a Finance Assistant, you will support the Financial Controller in the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel. Your primary focus will be ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner, with particular responsibility for purchase ledger and expenses. You will also work closely with our external bookkeeping partner, ensuring financial records are maintained to a high standard and aligned with company processes. What You’ll Do Support the day-to-day finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities Process invoices and expenses accurately and within required timelines Reconcile and audit the daily business and maintain accurate financial records Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting Review invoices for accuracy and compliance Support the coordination of external audits and annual financial reviews Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects as required Take a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and improvements within finance processes What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a Finance or Accounting role preferred (hotel experience advantageous) Good understanding of purchase ledger and accounts receivable processes Excel skills, with confidence using Word Comfortable adapting to new systems and technology Highly organised with strong attention to detail A professional, reliable, and proactive approach Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Strong communication skills with the ability to engage multiple departments Experience with hotel systems (e.g. HMS) is beneficial but not essential The Perks Pension enrolment from Day 1 (eligible team members).
