Description & Requirements
Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock - from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes.
The Events & Transcripts (EVTS) Data team operates at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and AI, delivering market-critical data that powers Bloomberg's Corporate Events and Transcripts product EVTS. From earnings calls and shareholder meetings to product launches and conferences, we maintain a global, centralized calendar of market-moving events enriched with transcripts and AI-driven insights.
Our data is embedded in the daily workflows of analysts, traders, and quantitative analysts who depend on accuracy, timeliness, and coverage to act on market-moving signals. We combine scalable ETL pipelines with human-in-the-loop curation to manage the full data lifecycle, ensuring our content meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
What's the role?
We are seeking a Data Product Owner who will own our Transcripts product end-to-end. This role is at the center of Bloomberg's innovation strategy, balancing client needs, AI-driven transcription capabilities, and running vendor partnerships to deliver real-time, high-quality market-moving data.
Working with leaders across teams, you will define the product roadmap and deliverables, crafting the design, implementation, and reporting of fit-for-purpose client and data solutions. You will function as a central point of contact across teams, maintaining a clear roadmap of commitments, and ensuring alignment with market trends and client expectations. Beyond transcripts, you will also lead the automation of third-party integrations for Corporate Events (EVTS Calendar), growing global coverage and reinforcing Bloomberg's leadership in events data.
We'll trust you to:
- Own and drive the Streaming Transcripts roadmap, defining and driving product strategy in collaboration with Product, Engineering, AI, Multimedia, and Speech partners.
- Engage with clients, market participants, and internal partners to bring together evolving needs for real-time transcripts and translate them into actionable roadmap priorities.
- Define what a fit-for-purpose transcripts product looks like, establishing health metrics-such as accuracy, timeliness, coverage, and vendor performance-that are continuously measured and clearly reported.
- Define, track, and report on objectives and key results that directly tie transcript and events product performance to measurable client outcomes - driving adoption, business impact, and long-term success.
- Evaluate and supervise ASR (Speech-to-Text) model performance through backtesting and boosting, setting standardized quality metrics that align with our State of Data pillars.
- Lead the design, evolution, and evaluation of our datasets, ensuring interoperability across systems and alignment with client workflows.
- Research and evaluate new datasets and emerging technologies, finding opportunities to expand coverage, improve automation, and strengthen transcripts and events workflows.
- Effectively lead projects and deliverables, applying structured execution rigor while bringing creativity and flexibility to problem-solving.
- Influence and align partners, communicating data vision, strategic priorities, and execution plans across cross-functional teams.
- Establish vendor management frameworks, negotiating contracts, optimizing pricing strategies, and ensuring vendors deliver on cost, quality, and service expectations.
- Drive automation initiatives for EVTS Calendar Data, building partnerships with global exchanges and third-party providers to expand structured event coverage.
