Pay Rate: £37,694 per annum
Location: Jubilee House, Limavady
Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (Flexi available)
Contract: Temporary ongoing
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is currently recruiting for a Policy and Legislation Officer on behalf of DAERA, Windsor Framework Implementation Unit, Clare House.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced policy and legislative environment, supporting the implementation of the Windsor Framework and related legislative requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with legal professionals, Departmental Solicitor's Office (DSO) officials, policy teams and stakeholders to support the development, interpretation and implementation of EU and domestic legislation.
The role involves legislative monitoring, policy development, stakeholder engagement, project support and governance activities, making it ideal for someone with strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities
6. Work with EU and domestic legislation to assess legislative and operational compliance and compatibility
7. Collaborate with DSO officials and legal teams to resolve legal queries
8. Track legislation progressing through the Northern Ireland Assembly and Westminster
9. Interpret regulations and legislative requirements
10. Review and analyse EU legislation and its application
11. Support policy and legislative development activities
12. Conduct research and contribute to evidence-based policy making
13. Engage with stakeholders through consultation, co-design and evaluation exercises
14. Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
15. Support project management activities and promote good governance practices
16. Assist senior colleagues with communication, reporting and presentations
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
17. A degree and a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience
18. Minimum of 6 months' experience working with EU and domestic legislation to assess legislative and operational compliance and compatibility
19. Experience working with legal professionals and teams to resolve legal queries
20. Experience maintaining and building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
21. Experience supporting or delivering project management activities
22. Experience supporting senior colleagues through effective communication and presentation skills
Desirable Criteria
23. Working knowledge of the Windsor Framework Agreement or willingness to develop expertise in this area
24. Experience introducing regulations or primary legislation through the Northern Ireland Assembly and/or Westminster
25. Experience interpreting regulations and legislative frameworks
26. Experience working with EU legislation
27. Experience developing policy and legislation using evidence-based research and analysis
28. Experience engaging and co-designing policy solutions with stakeholders
29. Experience evaluating policy outcomes and legislative effectiveness
