The Investment Advisor Billing Specialist is a critical role, responsible for processing, implementing, and executing the client fee billing process for the RIA platform, which includes investment management across multiple custodians, financial planning, and consulting arrangements. The Billing Specialist will have direct involvement with the entire finance team, assisting in reporting, G/L accounting and compensation processes.

Reports To:
Director of Accounting – Advisory Billing and Compensation
Location:
* This position may be remote or located in our Birmingham, AL office.
* If in Birmingham, we offer a hybrid schedule 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct quarter-end and monthly client fee billing process for investment management arrangements through the RIA Platform
* Manage applications responsible for calculating payouts to advisors.
* Conduct and process Advisor compensation disbursements
* Provide compensation reporting and support to Advisors.
* Look for opportunities to improve and build efficiencies with current processes.
* Interact with custodians and technology partners as it relates to assigned tasks and projects.
* Work with custodians as well as internal Operations/Client Service departments to resolve any rejections and exceptions
* Process any intra-billing adjustments, such as refunds and pro-rated billings.
* This position will assist with general journal entries, all company revenue sources: brokerage and advisory. This position will require strong G/L skills, managing, reviewing, and reconciling all revenue, billing, and payouts.
* Assist in the coordination of information for internal and external reporting

Requirements
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in business; Accounting preferred
Experience:
* At least 2 years accounting experience, knowledge of General Ledger and GAAP Accounting, experience in Sage Intacct Preferred
* Experience in the financial services industry
* Experience with Orion Advisor Technology Platform is preferred
* Experience with custodians, preferably Schwab, Fidelity is preferred
* Experience with billing for an RIA is preferred
Skills and Attributes:
* Advance skills in Excel
* Proficient in Microsoft Platform (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
* Able to work independently with superior problem solving, time and project-management skills.
* Able to manage and execute on complex processes with an attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
