Your Role
To be a successful Bailiff you need excellent communication skills, the ability to assess circumstances swiftly, adapt accordingly and lead confidently in emotionally charged situations. You will visit people in their homes and businesses, calmly explaining why you are visiting and what options are available to help resolve matters. Demonstrate empathy, remain non‑judgmental, respect court users and carry out your duties while respecting the customers you meet.
You will receive full bailiff training, including Court Management systems, and be supported by mentoring within the field.
Further Information
The Bailiff role includes a £2,000 per annum allowance. Standard work hours are 37 hours per week; part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing options are available.
Driving licence and vehicle: A UK or EU driving licence is required, and you must have access to and be able to use your own vehicle. Following successful completion of the probation period, a lease car may be available. UK fuel allowances and full PPE will be provided.

Driving and Vehicle Requirements
 * You must hold a valid UK or UK‑equivalent driving licence and must have your own suitable vehicle. If you lack a vehicle, you will not be considered until a suitable vehicle is in place.
 * UK licence must be held for at least 12 months for leasing schemes and for work‑related mileage to be paid in accordance with allowances.
