Supervisor Job Title Director and Founder
As our intern, your role would be to help us create visuals and content derived from our brand and archive that help us to communicate our work.
As we transition from photography-based work into design and publishing, our ideal intern would be able to assist with designing visual assets to use across our online platforms, books and merch.
Using illustration, design, image research and archiving, you will help us to develop the way we communicate Different Gravy as a brand visually.
What we are looking for
This role would suit someone with existing skills in graphic design, illustration and branding, and wants to explore this within a creative studio. Our ideal candidate is someone who shares our passion for documenting culture and finding new ways to explore this visually.
If you have experience in designing merch, posters and books, and enjoy playfully exploring typography and illustration, we feel this role would be perfect for you.
Additionally, if you are passionate about photography and film, there could be scope to get involved with shoots, as well as archiving some of our existing work.
What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.
This is an exciting opportunity to help Different Gravy shape its visual style, through creating visual works that help support our brand. You will gain mentorship from the founders and work collaboratively to create a range of design outputs. This internship will give you real experience in working for a creative studio that has collaborated with the likes of Barbican, ICA, South London Gallery and more.
We are currently looking to expand our socially engaged creative practice into the world of publishing and design as well as photography and film. Our intern will gain experience in what goes in to running a small socially engaged creative studio and will help us develop our ongoing projects.
Our ambition is to take on an intern with excellent graphic design skills and fun ideas to support us on real briefs, from book design to making merch and branding. As well as archiving photographic work from our ever-growing archive and helping us to curate online content.
We can offer guidance and mentorship to our intern to help them apply their skills in illustration, design and photography, to produce playful visual work to a professional standard.
