Job Summary
We are seeking a warm, energetic, reliable & experienced Paediatric Therapist to provide 1on1, home-based support & therapies for a lovely 4 y/o girl with Autism (ASD) inc speech delays. Therapist will work with the family & supervising behaviour consultant to implement an individualized therapy plan focused on developing communication, play, self-help & social skills in a nurturing & structured environment
Key Responsibilities
Deliver consistent 1:1 therapy sessions in house, following a structured program developed by a supervising behaviour consultant
Implement individualized goals targeting communication, behaviour, self-regulation, daily routines & social interaction
Use positive reinforcement, visual supports, prompting strategies & data-driven techniques
Collect & record accurate data on behaviours & skill acquisition
Participate in team meetings & supervision to review progress & adjust therapy plans
Communicate regularly & respectfully with parents/caregivers about progress & strategies for generalization
Create a safe, engaging & supportive environment that encourages learning through play &structured routines
Development of daily living skills such as toileting, dressing, eating & transitions
Qualifications
Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) or equiv experience with ABA therapy preferred. Preferably a Graduate in Child Psychology
Background in Psychology, Special Education, Behavioural Science or a related field
Min 1 year working with young children with ASD, preferably in a home-based or early intervention setting
Prefer an understanding of ABA principles, data collection & behaviour management techniques
Energetic, patient, creative & able to engage young children at their developmental level
Able to follow a structured therapy plan while being flexible to meet the child’s evolving needs
Must pass a background check & have First Aid/CPR certification or obtain
Preferred
Experience working with nonverbal or minimally verbal children using visual schedules, PECS or AAC systems
Familiarity with early childhood development & play-based interventions
Able to collaborate professionally with a team including parents & supervisors.
