We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at HMP Littlehey, a Category C & YOI Male prison. We are a Ministry Of Justice business providing critical and time-bound services to HMPPS. This role involves working to help ensure prisons are secure and safe for prisoners and staff, and to support rehabilitation and positive change.
HMP Littlehey runs like a self-contained town and relies on a large team to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team you will contribute to the smooth and safe operation, impacting prisoners, employees, visitors and the wider community.
You will work alongside experienced colleagues (Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators, and others) who are dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe environment.

Responsibilities
* Work as a Commercial Gas Engineer within the GFSL team at HMP Littlehey, supporting safe and secure prison operations.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to maintain heating and gas systems in a high-security environment.
* Adhere to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements, and comply with Gas Safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and associated industry standards.
* Support the maintenance and safety of commercial catering gas appliances (beneficial experience).
* Engage in health and safety best practices and contribute to a safe workplace.
Qualifications
* Two years experience in a role as a heating engineer, combustion engineer, or equivalent.
* Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
* Familiarity with Gas Safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and related industry standards.
* Experience with commercial catering gas appliances (beneficial).
* Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
* CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety and relevant domestic appliance units.
* COCN1 - Core commercial gas safety certificate and relevant commercial units.
* Good Health & Safety knowledge.
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
