Manual Machinist / Machine Technician / Lathe Operator Role
1. Will provide manual machining including precision grinding, honing, boring, milling, turning, and more.
2. Perform accurate centre lathe turning for component manufacturing and repair.
3. Use metrology equipment to ensure precise measurement and compliance with specifications.
4. Participate in training for additional skills, such as thermal spraying and welding, to expand expertise.
5. Liaise with various engineering departments.
Machinist / Manual Machinist / Lathe Operator Requirements:
1. Experience with manual lathes, manual machine tools, mechanical assemblies, metrology equipment.
2. Experience of manual machining including precision grinding, honing, boring, milling, turning, and more.
3. Proven experience with manual machine tools such as lathes and mills, and mechanical assemblies.
4. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Apprenticeship or engineering qualification in mechanical or machining disciplines is advantageous.
6. Reading technical drawings, setting up machines, and ensuring adherence to tight tolerances is essential.
7. Commutable to the workshop in Ramsgate.
