Job Title: Rail Supervisor
Location: Birmingham, plus travel to East Anglia
Contract: Casual Worker or Perm (depending on pay method)
Shifts: Days, Nights and Weekends
Pay: Competitive, PAYE or CIS

As the Rail Supervisor, you will manage the planning and delivery of Rail PWAY projects, ensuring site teams have the information, materials and equipment to deliver the works effectively and efficiently. Liaising with the Head of the Department, Construction and Civils Coordinator and client on-site. Ensuring high standards of communication and customer service are upheld and a professional working relationship is maintained.
What you’ll do:
Ensure teams understand plans to deliver works as specified by the client.
Oversee and create equipment lists for site delivery works.
Consider occupational and environmental risks to members of the public.
Maintain a healthy working relationship with principal contractors and/or contractors, obtaining future work plans to assist growth.
Assist in offering the correct systems for the required works.
Allocate the necessary workforce to cover work site requirements as appropriate.
Delivering safety briefs using clear language, ensuring the workforce understands the requirements and risks.
Attend site surveys to facilitate the safe and appropriate use of equipment as required.
Attend client meetings as required.
Support, manage, and give direction to the site team.
Where applicable, inform the Construction and Civils Coordinator for PO amendments if the client alters the job.
Request POs from the Commercial team as and when required.
Develop pricing documents as required.
Effectively complete daily site shift reports as required.
Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
Continually monitor the operational effectiveness
Record and act on customer complaints
Protect the reputation and interests of the company at all times
To identify and develop growth and business opportunities as and when possible
What you need:
In-date PTS (Personal Track Safety)
COSS (Controller of Site Safety)
Full UK Driving Licence
Extensive experience in working on Network Rail (NR) re-railing/defects, inspection and maintenance of permanent way (PWAY) assets, including the reporting, marking, and action required for rail defects.
Proven track record of successfully managing site delivery worker teams.
Interfacing with staff across all departments at all levels
