We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Religious Education teacher to begin in September at a secondary school in Macclesfield. This is a key role, delivering a subject that sits at the heart of the curriculum and plays a vital part in shaping students’ spiritual, moral, and personal development.
The successful candidate will bring strong subject knowledge, a thoughtful and reflective approach to teaching, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the faith life of the school. A sound knowledge of Catholic teaching is essential, as is the ability to embody and communicate those values in a natural and authentic way.
The role involves teaching RE across a range of age groups, encouraging students to engage with big questions and develop a deep respect for faith and moral values.
Main responsibilities include:
* Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging RE lessons across the age and ability range
* Promote respectful discussion and critical thinking around moral, social, and spiritual issues
* Contribute to the Catholic life of the school through liturgies, collective worship, feast days, and reflective practices
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the continued development of the RE curriculum
* Support students’ personal growth and formation in line with the school’s mission
* Participate fully in pastoral responsibilities and the wider life of the school community
We are looking for someone who:
* Has Qualified Teacher Status and relevant experience teaching RE
* Demonstrates an understanding of Catholic beliefs, traditions, and educational priorities
* Can engage students in meaningful discussions about faith, ethics, and contemporary moral issues
* Is committed to high standards of teaching and the wider development of students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
