The department
The BIM team is a small, dedicated group reporting directly to the digital lead. It closely collaborates with design teams but operates independently to support BIM across the company. The team extends its reach through cross-functional Document Controllers and BIM Champions in other departments.
The design teams manage projects from conception through to construction, ensuring high standards at every stage. As a residential builder, Thakeham is an early BIM adopter, with ongoing expansion plans.
The role
We seek an experienced BIM professional to lead the modernization of our project data management using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and to expand our use of Revit and related tools. The role involves managing the CDE, developing Revit use, and supporting the design, engineering, and commercial teams to maximize 3D model benefits.
Key projects include embodied carbon calculations, automated material scheduling, 3D site plans, CGI generation, federated models, and direct tendering from the CDE.
The successful candidate will:
* Manage BIM Coordinators and support teams
* Implement BIM standards per ISO19650
* Configure ACC and Revit templates, libraries, and plugins
* Research and develop BIM strategies and tools
* Create training materials and conduct staff training
* Coordinate with project leads and host BIM meetings

The required skills
* At least 3 years’ experience in BIM roles
* Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar
* Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
* Understanding of ISO19650 standards
* Passion for BIM and innovation
* Strong problem-solving and research skills
* Knowledge of residential construction methods
* Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
* Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure
* Full driving license
