TheJobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. Thejobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs,the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and thesetting of standards of care. The jobholder will provide specialist nursingcare and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to thedevelopment of the speciality service. The jobholder will ensure costeffective use of resources.
Thepost holder will work within the Haemophilia nursing team and alongside thewider MDT. They will be responsible for a defined caseload of patients providing support management at key points on their journey.
Main duties of the job
Thenursing role includes supporting those with bleeding disorders withtreatment. This includes administering a range of coagulation factors andmonitoring patients undertaking prophylaxis at home. The team providetreatment to patients undergoing surgery with bleeding disorders across siteat Leeds General Infirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital. The team alsosupport wards caring for patients with bleeding disorders to ensure the bestpossible care is given.

Job responsibilities
Anexciting opportunity for a 9-month secondment has arisen within the adulthaemophilia team at St Jamess Hospital, Leeds. It is a full-time band 6clinical nurse specialist role.
Thereare a large number of patients registered with the Leeds comprehensive carecentre with a range of inherited bleeding disorders. The adult team are basedwithin Bexley wing, with a dedicated area for treating patients.
Leedsis also a part of a Haemophilia network with York and Bradford hospitals andhas a highly collaborative approach to patient care. The team work closelywith the paediatric team as well as other health care professionals such asphysiotherapists.
Thenursing role includes supporting those with bleeding disorders withtreatment. This includes administering a range of coagulation factors andmonitoring patients undertaking prophylaxis at home. The team provide treatment to patientsundergoing surgery with bleeding disorders across site at Leeds GeneralInfirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital. The team also support wards caringfor patients with bleeding disorders to ensure the best possible care isgiven.
Aspart of the service, we also run a successful nurse-led telephone clinic,keeping in touch with those with milder disorders.
