Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department at General Motors. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems to enhance our aerodynamics development for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to technical challenges, significantly contributing to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
* Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large data volumes.
* Integrate data from various sources, including cloud and on-prem systems.
* Ensure data quality through automated validation and monitoring.
* Optimize data workflows for performance and reliability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
* Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
* Present technical reports and specifications to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
* 5+ years in data engineering or related fields.
* Proficiency in Python, C++, Java.
* Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
* Knowledge of distributed systems like SLURM, LSF.
* Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Effective communication skills.
Preferred:
* Master’s degree in relevant fields.
* Experience in motorsports industry.
* Knowledge of data governance, HPC architecture, Data Acquisition systems.
* Experience with Live Streaming data pipelines and aerodynamic testing.
