Main duties of the job
As a GP in ourpractice, you will be responsible for providing primary medical services to theregistered patients of the practice, both telephone & F2F ensuring the highest standards of care forall, undertaken in line with the relevant national primary care contractualregulations and guidelines. Provide care for both on-the day care for patientsand pre-booked patients with long term conditions along with some admin tasks. .

Job responsibilities
All normal dutiesand responsibilities associated with a Salaried GP working within primary careas set by the regulatory and standard setting organisations, including but notlimited to the points below. In accordance with the practice timetable, asagreed, will undertake a variety of duties including:
Surgery consultations telephone consultations and E Consults, triaging, checking and authorising repeatprescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medicalreports and examinations on behalf of the
Provide health promotion and advice, signposting patients to appropriateservices to maximise their health and social functioning and their ability toself-manage their care.
Be constantly mindful of the need for the provision of personalised careand population health, including reducing health inequalities and ensure thatthese are reflected in daily practice.
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presentingpatients, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workerswithin the organisation or external organisations.
Assess the health needs of patients with undifferentiated andundiagnosed problems taking appropriate action as necessary.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnesstaking appropriate action as necessary.
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsusing IT systems.
Prescribe in accordance with locally agreed or nationally agreedprescribing formulary.
Work in accordance with all relevant clinical guidelines, pathways andprotocols.
Responsible for tasks delegated to them, appropriate to their level of In-hoursduty doctor sessions; to be agreed.
All General Practitioners are expected to participate in continuingprofessional development, annual GP appraisal, Revalidation and appropriatepeer supervision and to remain up to date on professional developments as requiredby their professional body. GPs are actively encouraged to take their studyleave entitlement in order to support the development needs identified in theirPDP and appraisal. Undertake all requirements to remain on the MedicalPerformers List.
Ensure that they remain up to date with and implements all relevant goodclinical practice guidance (e.g. NICE guidance).
Work in accordance with all relevant clinical pathways and protocols.
Active engagement with professional development lead, to promote patientsafety and quality of service.
Participation in a range of clinical governance activities, includingclinical audit and such quality improvement activities deemed necessary byexternal accrediting bodies.
Ensure that the requirements of the Care Quality Commission arereflected in his/her day to day practice and will maintain and develop thepractices active management of CQC requirements.
