The role
As a Welding Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our operations, leading a skilled team of Industrial Trades professionals who maintain and support our Fleet Assets. Your leadership will drive excellence across safety, quality, and delivery, while helping shape a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
1. Leading a team of trades professionals in planned/reactive maintenance and commissioning activities
2. Defining, scheduling and coordinating work packages with internal teams
3. Reviewing safety, quality and technical documentation before work begins
4. Managing subcontractors to deliver specific components of work
5. Promoting safe working practices and conducting risk assessments
6. Collaborating with delivery and training teams to support team development
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.
Essential experience of the Welding Supervisor
7. Experience in a similar role within a highly regulated industry
8. Skilled in Safe Systems of Work and their practical application
9. Strong knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards
10. Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced setting
11. Experience in welding subject to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Qualifications for the Welding Supervisor
12. HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent hands-on experience
13. ILM Level 3 certification is desirable but not essential

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
