Division of Urogynecology within the Department of Ob/Gyn, located at 391 Myrtle Avenue, Albany, NY. Our OB/GYN practice is seeking an RN to join our Women's Health team in the high-risk Maternal Fetal division. We focus on compassionate patient care in a friendly, team-oriented environment.
The Urogynecology RN provides proficient care for women with pelvic floor disorders, demonstrating skills in triage, assisting in clinics, and performing procedures like urodynamic testing and catheterization. Prior urology experience is preferred but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Document accurately and thoroughly as required.
2. Utilize resources effectively to meet patient outcomes.
3. Analyze patient needs and deliver systematic care.
4. Provide age-appropriate direct patient care, including diagnostics, venipuncture, medication administration, and assisting physicians.
5. Perform telephone triage, coordinate care, and document interactions.
6. Schedule tests and procedures, obtaining prior authorizations as needed.
7. Develop educational tools for patients and families.
8. Engage in community outreach as indicated.
9. Participate in studies with Principal Investigators.
10. Provide culturally sensitive patient and family education.
11. Coordinate multidisciplinary care with other departments.
12. Ensure proper functioning of medical equipment and manage failures.
13. Participate in patient throughput activities during clinic visits.
14. Assist in orientation of new staff.
15. Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and accreditation standards.
16. Utilize scheduling systems for follow-up care.
17. Locate and apply regulations and policies online.
18. Use intranet resources for self and staff education.
19. Write letters of medical necessity as needed.
20. Delegate tasks and ensure their completion.
21. Collaborate on quality improvement initiatives.
22. Maintain regulatory compliance.
23. Review and triage test results.
24. Document care properly, ensuring age appropriateness and data accuracy.
25. Adhere to electronic system and Code of Conduct standards.
26. Maintain a safe clinic environment and participate in Environment of Care Surveys.
Minimum Requirements:
* Associate’s degree from an accredited RN program.
* Current NYS RN licensure.
* Current CPR certification.
* Specialty certification in ambulatory settings preferred.
* OB experience preferred but not required.
Skills Required:
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions.
* Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and electronic health records.
* Ability to administer medications via all routes and calculate doses.
* Competence with standard clinical and office equipment.
* Team player capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Weekends and Holidays: Not required
