We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to act as a trusted partner to project teams and senior stakeholders, ensuring all operational activities meet legal obligations, industry standards and internal policies.
This role plays a vital part in supporting safe and compliant project delivery while reducing risks for employees, contractors and the public.
Job Description
We are looking for a proactive and influential safety professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with excellent stakeholder management.
You will work closely with leaders across the business to drive continuous improvement, embed best practice and support a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular site audits and inspections, producing detailed reports and tracking corrective actions to closure.
* Review and approve project-specific risk assessments, RAMS and toolbox talk materials, ensuring robust hazard control.
* Lead investigations into accidents, near misses and unsafe events, compiling statutory reports and presenting lessons learned.
* Develop and deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks and formal training sessions, maintaining up-to-date training matrices.
* Review and enhance existing HSEQ guidance, governance and processes to support project teams in safe delivery.
* Act as the principal H&S advisor to Project Directors, Site Managers and subcontractors, attending safety committees and forums.
* Maintain and update company H&S policies and procedures in line with CDM Regulations, HSE guidance and best practice.
* Develop and monitor H&S KPIs and dashboards, identifying systemic issues and leading cross-functional improvement projects.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Solid experience in construction/project management as an HSEQ specialist, ideally within a Tier 2 contractor.
* Professional accreditation such as MCIOB, MRICS or equivalent HSEQ qualification.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
* Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving capability under pressure.
* Proven leadership and team management experience.
* Full UK driving licence required.
