We're looking for more people to join our Hospital Cleaning Team at Singleton Hospital to help us provide a spotless environment for patients.
Our cleaners are key members of ward teams, working together with clinical staff to support the wellbeing of patients while they are in hospital.
This is because a sparkling clean environment not only makes a hospital stay more pleasant - it also helps keep infections at bay.
Cleaning in a Hospital requires skills over and above a typical cleaning job, so we also provide free specialist training to give you that extra knowledge.
We are offering part time permanent contracts with hours from 20 Hours - 32.You will be required to undertake duties to ensure the upkeep of a clean and hygienic environment within the hospital and other Health Board premises, inclusive of in-patient and non-patient environments under the direction of the Domestic Services Supervisor.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, on occasions, the post holder may be required to work at a unit other sites across the Health Board.
Follow departmental procedures and provide a responsive cleaning and decontamination service for patient and non-patient areas throughout the healthcare premises. The post holder will work across traditional staff group boundaries to provide an effective and timely service and maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
All work to be undertaken in line with Health & Safety, COSHH and cleanliness policies and procedures, and with a commitment to customer care, following on the job training.

Daily/weekly cleaning of all areas of allocated ward or department, in line with work schedules, including:
Cleaning of toilets, bathrooms and sanitary fittings
Empty of bins, collection of clinical and non-clinical waste bags, replacement of bags in bins and cleaning of bins
Vacuum cleaning of soft floor areas
Cleaning of high and low level surfaces
Regeneration and service of patient meals
Monitoring and completion of record charts for patient food waste
Cleaning of ward kitchen and associated equipment and storage areas
Cleaning of patient crockery using mechanical dishwasher
Collect wash and refill patients water jugs deliver
Give out beverages and collect meal trays.

NVQ Level 2 (Customer Services/Cleaning) Or Undertake a period of Induction to include Role relates training eg COSHH, Manual handling IPC etc
Knowledge of Infection Control Policy, Guidelines and Procedures.
Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
Ability to travel within geographical area and work hours flexibly to meet the demands of the service e.g. shift patterns as per HB sites.
