Job Summary
Amplius is looking for an experienced Clerk of Works to join our new-build programme in a hybrid role based in the Milton Keynes office. The successful candidate will work closely with our Development team, contractors and site teams to ensure high standards of quality and compliance throughout the build life cycle.

Salary: £47,656 per year plus a car allowance of £2,750.28. Contract: Permanent, full time. Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:45am – 5pm. Location: Hybrid – weekly presence in our Milton Keynes office with travel across the South Region (Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire).
Responsibilities
* Carry out regular site inspections to monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with contracts, drawings and specifications.
* Monitor health and safety on site, identifying and reporting any non‑compliance or risks.
* Communicate with contractors to track progress, including labour, materials and any delays.
* Produce clear, detailed reports capturing inspection findings and evidence.
* Attend site and project meetings, acting on behalf of the Project Manager where required.
* Support design reviews by assessing drawings and specifications, providing technical advice and contributing to continuous improvement.
* Complete snagging inspections, support handovers and work with aftercare teams to resolve defects during the liability period.
Qualifications
* HNC in a construction discipline (or equivalent) and a valid CSCS card.
* Proven experience overseeing new residential construction projects as a Clerk of Works.
* Strong knowledge of construction legislation and NHBC Standards.
* Ability to carry out detailed inspections and identify defects or non‑compliance.
* Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications and build programmes.
* Confidence producing clear, accurate technical reports.
* Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
* High attention to detail, with the ability to plan, organise and remain resilient in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Requirements
DBS clearance, a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel are all essential for this role.
