Prospero Teaching is working closely with an SEND school in Macclesfield. The school is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in their Autism base.
The SEND school is a well-rated provision catering to pupils aged 11-16 with a wide range of SEND, including moderate to profound and multiple learning difficulties, physical disabilities, multisensory impairments, visual and hearing impairments, and conditions like autism spectrum disorder. All pupils have an EHC plan, and the school offers various provisions to meet diverse needs.
Vacancy Details
The vacancies are in the following area:
* Autism Base: A dedicated environment for students diagnosed with autism and complex needs. The curriculum aligns with the main school, providing access to all subjects and facilities. The focus is on developing social interaction, self and sensory regulation, and communication skills.
Role Responsibilities
* Providing tailored 1:1 support to students
* Supporting students with high needs
* Creating a safe, engaging environment for learning and fun
* Supporting academic development, including ICT pathways
Candidate Requirements
* Experience supporting pupils with complex behaviors, either voluntary or paid, or experience supporting those with complex needs in a school or care setting
* Driven, energetic, and eager to pursue a career in education and supporting students with complex needs
* Location: Macclesfield
* Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
* Contract: Temporary ongoing
* Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, until 4 pm
* Start date: ASAP
Team Teach training is highly desirable for this role.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible through Prospero Teaching, you must:
* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide two professional references
