Independent Advocate

Join to apply for the Independent Advocate role at POhWER.

This role is part of a flexible, values‑based organization that places the people we support at the heart of everything we do. Pay will be based on your skills and experience; discuss details with your recruiter.


Base pay range

Salary: £24,242.40 per annum.

* Hours: 37 hours per week, 9am – 5pm Monday‑Friday as required.
* Location: Home based with travel around the Stoke-on-Trent area (applicants should live in the area, have a full driver’s licence and own transport).
* Commute: Flexible travel may be required; mileage will be covered.
Independent Advocate Requirements
* Strong communication and time‑management skills for remote work.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to learn client‑management databases.
* Attention to detail to ensure accurate record‑keeping and timely reporting.
Desirable
* Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role in health, social care or the voluntary sector.
* Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults.
* Working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations.

An Enhanced DBS check and National Offender Management Service vetting will be conducted for this position.

Successful applicants must obtain business insurance for their own vehicle.
