An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Teaching Assistant at our Specialist Early Years Centre. We cater for a range of autistic and neurodiverse children from 2.5 -5 years, following the guidance in the Early Years Foundation Stage and our own specialist curriculum. We are an Ofsted outstanding, NAS accredited setting in Stevenage. This role would be suitable for an active, enthusiastic person who is keen to develop and extend their practice, with a level 2 or above qualification and early years experience. It is a very rewarding role, working with a small close knit team, delivering early intervention to autistic children in Hertfordshire. The role is term time only, contracted regular hours. There is opportunity to enrol in the company pension. Hours:- We are building the capacity of our specialist team and are initially looking for someone to work every Tuesday (term time only) - hours 9am to 3pm. This is with a view to increasing over time. Centre Opening Hours - Monday 9am to 1pm, Tuesday 9am to 3pm, Wednesday and Thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Essential Ability to adapt to changing situations and use initiative. Experience and knowledge of working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Basic knowledge and experience with autistic children in the early years. Willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Level 2 qualification or above. Desirable Willingness to undertake relevant training and learn from our team of professionals. Basic knowledge of Makaton/Signalong signing. Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children with Autism. We would welcome visits before application.
