Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 6am – 3pm

We are currently recruiting an experienced Quality Inspection Team Leader to join a local company in Chesterfield. This role offers a hands-on leadership opportunity within a busy engineering environment, combining practical inspection expertise with the ability to coordinate and support a small team.
Key responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate the workload of the inspection team to meet schedules and quality targets
* Carry out product inspections to confirm compliance with customer and specification requirements prior to dispatch
* Support quality and production meetings, assisting in resolving customer issues and assessing purchased components
* Work with department heads to address non-conforming products and ensure timely rework
* Log and communicate internal non-conformances via the quality management system
* Ensure inspection and measuring equipment is maintained and calibrated as required
* Liaise with procurement regarding supplier quality concerns
* Collaborate with production and despatch teams to prioritise inspection activities
* Communicate identified defects clearly and work with team leaders to implement corrective actions
* Maintain high standards of health and safety across inspection and production areas
Experience and skills required:
* Previous experience as a Quality Inspection Supervisor or Team Leader within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Experience in construction, building materials or fire safety sectors desirable
* Experience managing a small team and working to daily production schedules
* Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
* Strong communication skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
* Confident using measuring equipment and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
* Hands-on leader who leads by example while balancing quality standards with operational demands
