Administrative Officer (AO) - Band E Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne Pay: £12.86 per hour Type: Temporary, 12 months (with high likelihood of extension) - 37 hours/week Our Client, a reputable government department, is hiring for a dedicated Administrative Officer to join their team at Newcastle Crown Court. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of the justice system while developing your skills within a supportive environment. What you'll be doing: * Preparing papers, files, and court documents for hearings and meetings * Managing records and data input on in-house systems * Assisting with civil and family court clerking, ensuring all materials are ready and accurate * Supporting court users and handling enquiries face-to-face, via phone, or in writing * Scheduling and coordinating court activities, including serving documents and collecting fines * Checking and verifying documents, accounts, and casework to ensure compliance and accuracy * Producing basic reports and statistical analysis * Communicating effectively with judiciary, legal professionals, and external agencies * Contributing to team meetings and small projects, with flexibility to undertake ad hoc duties What you'll bring: * Minimum of five GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, or NVQ Business Administration Level II * Good computer skills suitable for administrative tasks * Strong customer service skills with a professional, helpful approach * Ability to work as part of a team and independently, managing your own time * Flexibility to work across different office locations as needed * A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and improve processes Join us and be part of a team committed to delivering high standards of service within the justice system.
