At Blue Arrow we are always looking for talented and dedicated Chefs to join our clients kitchen team. We are currently looking for Chefs to cover a number of temporary roles within Blackpool, mainly in Primary Schools.
As a Chef you will:
Prepare vegetables, meats and fish with guidance from senior chefs
Ensure ingredients and preparation is ready for service for more senior Chefs
Measure/weigh dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
Deal with deliveries and stock rotation
Assist other section chefs during service
Cook and prepare elements of high-quality dishes with guidance
Help with deliveries and restocking
Contribute to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
Cleaning stations and kitchen equipment throughout the day and at the end of service
Qualifications/Licences/Certifications/Experience
Essential
Enhanced DBS is essential
Experience working well in a team and communicating with the other members of staff
Basic cooking skills
Food Hygiene Level One
Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
Minimum 6 months relevant experience
Awareness of manual handling techniques
Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
Experience of kitchen equipment
Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives
Competent level of English spoken and written
