Part-time ARC Co-ordinator for Northern Ireland (0.6wte) Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC) is a UK-wide charity providing impartial information and support to parents through antenatal testing and its consequences and working in partnership with health care professionals to help them deliver high quality care. The ARC co-ordinator for Northern Ireland (NI) will help us develop and extend our work across the country: Promote ARCs services to health professionals across NI and build sustainable relationships with them RaiseawarenessofARCwithdecisionmakersand otherkeyorganisationsin NI Help developanddeliverARCeducationalprojectstohelpraisestandardsofcareandto disseminate best practice throughout NI HelpgeneratefundingforARCthroughsuchprojects LiaisewithARCLondonofficeinfulfillingARCsmission The Role You will be self-motivated, able to manage your own workload and work with minimal supervision. You should have an understanding of the issues surrounding antenatal screening and diagnosis in a NI context. The successful candidate will build on the excellent work of the previous post-holder to maintain and further develop relationships with hospitals, clinics, individual health professionals and third sector organisations. This is with the aim of increasing awareness of ARC among health professionals and expectant parents in NI. ThepostholderwillchampionandhelpdeliverARCswell-evaluatededucationprogrammein NI. You will influence and collaborate on the development of ARC training with a specific NI focus. Delivery of training will be face to face and online. There will also be opportunity for involvement in policy work. ThepostholderwillworkfromhomeinNIbuttherewillberegulartravel, includingatleasttwo trips a year to London, for which expenses will be paid. Other Toundertakeotherdutiesasrequired bythe Director Toprofessionally representARCandbeanadvocateforlearninganddevelopment Tokeepuptodatewithdevelopmentsinthefield Beanactiveandsupportiveteammemberwithintheorganisation Operate in a style which is consistent with the values and vision of ARC PERSON SPECIFICATION The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: Essential Acommitmenttotheprincipleofwomenmakingtheirownreproductivedecisions Theabilitytocommunicateeffectivelyandengagewitha varietyofaudiences Excellentpresentationskills QuicklearnerwithabilitytoworkindependentlyandaspartofthesmallARCteam Ability toshowempathyandsensitivityandcapacitytomanagetheemotionalimpactofthe work Excellent organisationalskillsincludingabilitytoprioritiselearningandworkload,setand attain realistic goals and monitor outcomes An enthusiastic approach to development work Understanding of the healthcare landscape in NI Desirable Experienceofsuccessfultrainingdeliveryorgroupfacilitation Experienceofworkin orwith thethirdsector Experienceofsuccessfulworkingaspartofa smallteam Experience of project management We are not solely seeking candidates with a medical/health care background as there will be a full induction offered.
