Head of Marketing

We are looking for a commercially driven, strategic Head of Marketing with deep NHS knowledge to lead our growth strategy and overhaul our digital footprint. This is an exceptional opportunity for a brilliant Account-Based Marketing (ABM) specialist with a "hunter mindset" who thrives on aligning marketing efforts directly with sales objectives.
To set you up for success, you won’t be expected to do everything alone. We are looking for an expert growth orchestrator. You will own the strategy and drive core internal ABM initiatives, while managing a network of specialist external partners and freelancers (covering niche areas like PR/Comms and technical SEO) to deliver on our five-pillar growth plan.
You will be reporting to the Growth Director.

Within this position, you will mainly be;
Digital Expansion & Lead Generation
Drive Account-Based Marketing (ABM): Shift marketing activity away from broad campaigns to highly targeted activity explicitly aligned with sales efforts. Design and execute bespoke ABM strategies aimed at decision-makers within 10–20 "must-win" NHS Trusts.
Digital Strategy & Website Ownership: Take ownership of our website and digital channels to improve user journeys and capture active "buy signals."
Outsourced SEO Oversight: Direct and collaborate with external specialist agencies to implement rigorous SEO mapping for NHS search terms.
Market Intelligence: Work closely with Account Management and apply Business Intelligence (BI) data to spot cross-selling opportunities and translate Medical Advisory Board (MAB) insights into actionable campaigns.
PR, Partnerships & External Affairs
PR & Agency Management: Utilise your agency management and communication skills to direct specialised, NHS-focused boutique PR agencies. Coordinate plans, messaging, and content from a client perspective to manage public affairs, crisis management, and external positioning.
Strategic Networking: Work with external advisors and maximise our memberships (e.g., DHC, CHN, IHPN, Confed) to organise highly targeted roundtables, parliamentary events, and webinars.
Industry Voice: Craft and control the narrative around how HBSUK solves the NHS backlog crisis, ensuring our voice is prominent, authoritative, and trusted.
Content & Social Media Strategy
Executive Enablement: Gain buy-in from the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to elevate their social media presence. Provide them with ready-to-use content and daily news summaries featuring a distinct HBSUK point of view.
Value-Driven Content: Lead the creation of "free info that's useful." Shift the content focus toward sharing best practices and data-driven insights between Trusts, rather than purely promotional material.
Team Leadership & Operations
Build the Engine: Manage and develop our internal "Marketing Services Team" (overseeing content creators, web managers, and graphic designers), ensuring they are supported and aligned.
Brand Guardianship: Act as the ultimate brand guardian ("Brand Police"), ensuring quality assurance, compliance, and consistency across all touchpoints.
AI Integration: Champion the use of AI tools within the team to accelerate market research, content drafts, and data synthesis, freeing up internal resources from "chasing time."
