This contract with our central government client is for a Commercial Lawyer for 6 months. The location for the role is Hybrid - 2 days a week Southwest, Exeter or Bristol. Duties & Responsibilities: - Main duties and responsibilities may include both contentious and non-contentious work. Non-contentious work may include: working in procurement law, for example framework agreements and contracts; advising on contractual interpretation; data protection; Freedom of Information requests; preparing and advising on grants and funding agreements; Collaboration Agreements; Memorandum of Understandings; - Contentious work may include: advising on contractual litigation and contractual disputes; Construction disputes; advising and managing a range of valued claims including Small Claims and Multi-Track high value disputes. Litigation: working as part of a team on high value contract disputes. - More generally the candidate would: display an understanding of the resourcing requirements of own cases. Display an understanding of the context the client operates in. Display the professional attitude that client and company expect from a member of an organisation with a high reputation. Responds to reasonable client requests including agreeing achievable and realistic actions, timescales etc. Keeps abreast of legal developments and current thinking on related policy issues.
Requirements
- Experience in public law, contract law, procurement, grants and funding. - Qualified Lawyer, barrister or legal executive. - Specific Technology/Systems experience required - MS, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Excel Key Essential Skills 1.
