We are looking for a SDET engineer to join our growing business developing a wide range of market-leading InsurTech solutions. You will join us at an exciting time as we focus increasingly on cloud/SaaS solutions, upgrading existing products to new technologies and modern UX, as well as developing brand-new applications.
As a SDET Engineer, you will work alongside other engineers as part of a close-knit Scrum team to ensure our products meet high levels of reliability, maintainability, usability, and performance.
The Role:
1. Able to drive test strategies for large-scale, complex features and new applications.
2. Design, implement, and maintain test frameworks and environments to support automation-first testing.
3. Collaborate with Product Owners and Technical Leads to refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and quality expectations.
4. Partner with developers to create story-level test plans and achieve high levels of automated test coverage.
5. Develop and maintain automated tests across the full testing pyramid (unit, integration, API, UI, performance, security).
6. Execute a wide range of functional and non-functional tests (Manual when necessary, but automation-focused).
7. Perform exploratory testing on new features to uncover edge cases and usability issues.
8. Debug product and test code, identifying defects, reliability issues, or performance bottlenecks.
9. Provide test data analysis and clear reporting at key checkpoints or milestones.
10. Participate fully in Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives), continuously driving improvements in team velocity, quality, and engineering practices.
11. Advocate for testability and quality in design discussions, ensuring best practices are embedded in architecture and code.
12. Research, evaluate, and introduce new tools or methodologies that enhance test effectiveness and CI/CD pipelines, sharing knowledge across teams.
