The Role
As a Skipper/marine operator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You’ll have the opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team at Clyde Ranges primarily supporting the Royal Navy. Clyde ranges are LTPA sites on the West Coast of Scotland. Ranges comprise of two sites, Loch Goil and a campaigned site on Loch Fyne. Along with two other UK acoustic ranges, they contribute to operational signature measurements of the RN fleet.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Operate the Loch Goil workboat and hired vessels in a confined operational area
2. Operate small boats both day and nighttime operations prioritising safety
3. Work and Interact with Royal Navy vessels, surface and submarines
4. Operate a hydraulic knuckle boom Crane's both ashore and on vessels
5. Drive and Tow trailers too and from launch sites
6. To communicate effectively within a small team, working with other business functions such as engineers, scientists, visiting trial teams and Royal Navy.
Essential experience of the Marine Operator:
7. Previous experience in a marine environment working and operating boats
8. Marine skipper RYA with commercial endorsement or equivalent
9. Crane operations both on shore and in marine environment
10. Slinger/banksman with Forklift truck experience, Driving and towing trailers.
11. Experience in boat and boat yard maintenance
12. Knowledge of using MS office software

This role is 37 hours per week based at Clyde Ranges.
13. Travel to other local QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
